Plug in chips

Featured Replies

Just wondered if anyone uses any of the plug in chips and if they actually work? Been looking on eBay and there's a seller on there who's selling them and he doesn't have any negative feedback for them

Shark STS unit?

I know cheap usually means rubbish but on the odd occasion there are decent deals to be had. Thanks for your input

It would be interesting to see what is actually inside that thing and if it actually does anything.  At that price I won't let it anyway near the engine of my car.

Think by the sounds of it I won't be bothering then as I don't want it to do any damage

It seems to generic to me being able to do all of those engines at that price! I'd either go for a reputable remap or maybe STS box or DTUK box

Stay clear!

This is just to fool the car into thinking the engine is colder than it actually is to get the ECU to dump more fuel in. Yes they do give more power but they are a very dirty (literally... black smoke) way of doing it.

A proper digital tuning box will come with the big round connectors to plug into the fuel injector wiring.

All that will be inside that box will be one of these:

A coule of pence worth of resistor.

Haha. Yup!

Remap £200-£300 give or take or £15 for a 'magic box'....?  I'm going to order 2 and join them together, should see +60-70 bhp easy

(that's the mildly sarcastic way of saying NO in case anyone was wondering).

If your familiar with mighty car mods you will have seen this.

Most likely a resistor though on one like that though.

No either way.
