Can a OBDII BT adapter make a car run funny.

Featured Replies

Hi,

When I first got my car I also purchased one of the Bluetooth OBDII adapters.

After a couple of weeks I plugged it in and used the torque app to show all the figures etc and to solve a warning light (Glow Plug).

After using I noticed that when idle ing the car now makes a faint knocking noise at each rpm.

Being new car to me I couldn't say if it did this before but couldn't remember it doing it.

Can one of these ebay ELM327 devices do anything bad?

Cheers

Ok. Must be a belt or something then. Will get it checked out. It's not really loud but I just noticed it.
