My speedo is not working? My abs, managment light and handbrake lights are on aswell whilst driving?

This could be a falied ABS wheel sensor.

Any way of telling?

 best way is to check on vcds (diagnostic software), find out any faults if there is any, check connections,fuses 

Is it worth getting one rather than taking it to a garage?

The glowplug light is flashing now aswell!

Breaklight is working aswell! Could it be the brake switch?

If you don't have a laptop and software for a diagnosis and don't want to spend money at a dealership to see the codes, try cleaning the connections on each sensor and see if that helps. If that doesn't do the trick then one of the sensors is busted.

Depends if you are going to use it, there's allot of features you can enable and it's worth having your own diognostic tool as it works out cheaper than always going the dealer

It might be worth getting one if you have a laptop, you can get a cable from eBay and use vcds lite which is the free version Althought it limits what you can do, have a quick look moline and you will find many diognostic tools just I just find vcds by Ross tech is for me the best, if you was closer I would say pop over to me I can use my vcds to scan it just I'm in Manchester and see your in Kent :/ bit of a distance haha

Check the big fuses under the battery cover
