I think this has been covered fairly well that the rear lights can only be enabled to work with the DRL's with the dealer VAS software.  However I wondered if anyone had managed to actually do this as I believe the setting may reside within byte 18 ?

Rear DRL?

 

You mean US mode?

Not sure if this is US mode. What I would like to enable on the MKII FL OCTY is the rear side lights to be on as daytime running lights. I know this can be done with the dealer VAS tool. It is also compulsory in Ireland.

I had it done on my MKII Vrs. Dealer only  

On the pre fl it was US, and they come on only when the handbrake is off.

Or I think there's an option to enable side lights at all times which should work on the FL

It can be done by dealer (usually they charge one hour of diagnostics). I was also looking for this and yes it is Byte 18 issue. But sadly there is no experience what should be done.

Octy PRE-FL and AFTER FL have totally different settings regarding DRL, so US mode is out of option on FL.
