So i went all out on the interior with LEDs, so i thought why not do the underneath! 

I have also installed a boost gauge which after a lot of hassle finding out about what i need and finding a way into the engine bay (i drilled a hole in the end)! it does look good though! 

 

Ill start with the Boost Gauge! - after finding out i had to buy a £40 Adaptor from forge to go onto the manifold i wasn't to pleased. but it had to be done, as i had already bought the gauge. 

 

Now for how i have fitted the LEDs, firstly i bought an inline fuse, and i have used a 5amp fuse, which is also now powering all my interior LEDs(i have taken them off of my sidelights so i can have bright white sidelights and no error message on my dash). and i have put this onto the spare point on top of the battery connector-

I will say that i think you will need to buy an adaption cable to make it longer as the back one is not long enough to reach engine bay, unless you put the receiver box under the car in the middle somehow and then make the power cables longer.. depends how you want to do it. 

 

The Specification of the LEDs are 

2 x 48" (120cm) Neon LED strips ( 72 LED )

2 x 36" (90cm) Neon LED strips ( 54 LED )

and the cable is about 250cm, on all 4. 

 

 

i also put the negative for both the under car leds and the interior onto the spare point in the ground cable on the battery-

 

Inline fuse-

 

The Passenger lights and the front strips i have brought the cables up and through the arch liners and into the engine bay, also if you see the big red cable cover, this is where i have hidden the majority of the wires, as there is quite a lot left over from the one in the engine bay, and power cables etc. -

 

And the same with the other side-

 

also when doing this i have hidden most of the cables in the red tubing i have all other the engine bay.

 

i brought the drivers side wire over the front of the top of the grille and i have mounted the box there with a cable tie-

 

This is where i have put the under car lights, there is a gap just big enough for them on the underside on the under panel? i can't remember the name of it. i used double sided tape (3M) and i used cable ties at regular intervals. 

 

This is where it goes up and into the arch liner and into the engine bay-

 

i put this one in the engine bay due to not being able to get in onto the rear bumper because i have had the exhaust cut in and it is to big to go on and would look silly. the way I'm going to get around this is by just using red strips that i can cut and ill put them around the bumper and put them onto the wiring with the LEDs atm with a switch.

Yeah i know, i looked at a photo when the day it came into the dealer and it has changed so much since when i got it! but life is to short to not do things, i just look at it as whatever i can do can be changed and put back, not harm done

Yes it is, leds use hardly any power at all. they could be on all night and it will be fine. i don't leave them on for loads of time, i leave them on for the car meets and then id either start the engine and leave it running for a while or id drive home.

I thought this craze burned out a decade ago to be honest. With the right colour they can look really good and I really like them, but the wrong colour can spoil them do easily for me. I still like the decals by the way.

Buddy, the best thing of all of is is how clear it is that while doing all of this you are really learning your way around your car.

Whether the mod itself is to everyone's liking is neither here nor there, someone like you clearly loves your car and you will continue to tinker and at the end have a ton of knowledge and a lot of skills that you will take on to car after car after car probably spending a fortune on the way and having a lot of fun.

For all of you taking an easy pop at Jay, go steady, you might not like the mod but you have to admire the spirit, he is putting a lot of effort into his car and worth even more credit he has soaked up A LOT of "banter" on here and keeps coming back strong. I suspect this is only the start of an illustrious life of tinkering.

Keep at it bud. I think red all round is the best luck.

Cheers mate! That's why I'm doing it.. I'm learning and I have no reason not to.

Unlike some people on the forum, who do there cars up really plain and modify in other ways, yeah I like them. But I can't afford to do anything like that, I can't go out and buy airride suspension and go highly modified engines etc. I'm only 17, I do whati can with the money I have and so on. If I had the money then half of whati have done I probably wouldn't have. Although it's a new car, it's still my FIRST car, everyone does stuff that when they are older they will think "why did I do that?!"

I take peoples opinions into heart yes, but it won't change my mind. My car is a typical car of you either like it or you don't. I've had a few people ask me about the decals because they want them done, and I've had people who don't like the. Each to their own.

I like to give detailed posts because even on the leds I've had people ask how I've done them because they want to do them, so I write these so they can see and so can anyone else who wants to do it. And it just makes the post a little more interesting.

It has a tiny bit of finance due to I can have the gap insurance and service plan etc. and it has one hole which goes through to the engine bay. Which can either have a blank grommet put into place, or if worse comes to worse I'll have a plate welded on?

Everything I have done can be put back to standard.
