Octavia mk1 steering wheel controls with aftermarket stereo problems?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've got a 2004/54 Mk1 PD130 L&K estate, fitted with steering wheel controls from new.

Not long after purchasing the car I fitted an Alpine HU (for Bluetooth compatibility etc) with steering wheel control compatibility, along with what was advertised by Connects2 as the right steering wheel control adapter for a mk1. When it arrived I fitted it but the adapter didn't work as none of the wires occupied any of the correct positions for the pins in the plugs on the loom from the car.

I then purchased an adapter for a mk4 Golf thinking (hoping!) that it might be the right one for the car but unfortunately it wasn't either.

I've read a few posts on here from people with Superbs that we're having similar problems, however, is there anyone with a Mk1 Octavia who has managed to get the steering wheel controls working with an aftermarket stereo? And if so, how?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Tom
