Positivity & Faith in the MK2 Fabia vRS, you liked them so much that you got another.

Featured Replies

There are those that think there is too much negativity on here regarding the MK2 Fabia vRS.

Where mostly it is a case of forearmed is forewarned.

But there are many many more good Fabia Twinchargers in the UK among the 3,000 or so Built in the past

4 years than ones that went wrong.

So a reasonably priced Skoda in Hatch or Estate, economic if you want for the upkeep, with the MPG, Servicing & Insurance,

and Fun and with some performance when you want.

There are some that have Liked them so much that they Bought more than one for them self, or someone in their Family

bought another.

So basically, there have been issues, but there are people that like the car, and are prepared to Replace theirs or

in the family another was purchased.

So i have one and in my family we have another.

Mine is one of the first built June 2010 and registered in the UK, so over 4 Years old.

? Who else had one then they got another for them or a family member did.

On here i know of.

Actually  George between my Partner and me we have had 3 (YES 3)

My original FR10.....   (same age as your red one) UK launch model was Horton's of Lincoln demo and Showroom car . 2500 miles at purchase and 28500 on it when I was PX with an Octavia mk2 62 plate Blackline spec, because I needed even more useful space.

She never missed a beat and at px had passed the two oil burner test.

My Partner's July 2011 Red, black roof and alloys  demo at Oxford dealer, 5000 miles at purchase ,did a daily 60 commute across country returning excellent fuel consumption .Only started to show higher than normal oil consumption at 35000 but required new engine at 43000. Member on here bought it from a dealer, where my partner traded up to a higher spec CTHE July 2013 model in Stealth colour ( all black) Car bought at 6000 miles and is going great. Now with 14 500 miles on it and goes like a train!

Non of our vRS'S ever broke down (great reliability), or had DSG issues, pulling to one side, or burning out plugs(std plugs) etc.

Always ran on top grade fuel and cars regularly serviced - driven briskly but never like a maniac but much fun was had at all times, even with the oil burner.

Practical 2- 5 seater (5 doors) and Collie  dog carrier and small family car.

We were and are Happy vRS owners ,warts and all!!

Even switching from my current wheels, into her vRS  I still get a buzz and a smile put on my face.

Treat them with respect and a bit of engineering kindness and you will get a real fun package.

indeed... may have to keep mine! lol.... when I've finished paying for it, I'll just spend the money on mods :)

I have just driven my first fifty miles in my new one.

Love it. Love the dsg love the power love how easy it is to pootel about. If I have a problem it's the dealers problem and in three years I will swap for something else

That was quick! Only this morning you were thinking your car had been delayed and were talking about cancelling your order to search for a stock car elsewhere lol!!

It's funny how relaying that information to the dealer can change things

I plan to get another after this one if I can find one at low mileage etc. Ive had oil issues with mine but not sure you can get a similar car for the cash.

Never mind, the mk3 will offer you more space ,a sexy upmarket look, fantastic mpg and an earth shattering 0-60 in 14.5 sec.

Just what the young and upwardly mobile family person wants.

Oh! and great for Silver surfers who have lost their mojo!

How many people HAVE moved away or thinking of moving from Skoda, for the loss of the small hot hatch in recent weeks  /months . More so since the CEO said "There will not be a Fabia vRS!!

I, (as im sure others would) would order the next gen fabia vrs. I am 27 and have a growing family. The fabia fits us perfectly. Plus when im out on my own, I enjoy it immensely. I can see skoda/vag/purse holder changing their minds. Not guaranteed, but hoping anyway :D

Small hot hatch market is getting bigger all the time . But No Skoda or VW or Seat yet. But a very expensive Audi S1

BMW and Ford along with a slow pick on on Peugeot. Renault(?)

The slight issue I have is that it MUST be auto. Or semi auto obviously. That narrows my choice a lot.

Hence most owners who want that DSG are buying up the last new vRS coming into the UK or latest dealer demo cars.

Yep. Wish I had the cash to get a new one now. Best chance really. Shame im stuck a bit as I wont get much for mine on px. Otherwise id be at dealers tonight :(

That's a shame Th3Grinch,bloody frustrating, I'm sure.

Keep your current car in top condition, the 2nd hand market for this unique little pocket rocket will recover,in my opinion.

Classic with only about 3000 being sold in the UK

Me too, even thought I've pumped some cash into mine, it's nothing that can be switched over!

I hope they do make a MK3 VRS, if not they have lost a customer in me!

Yep totally agree. My dad reckons its a car worth 'blanketing' (sticking in a garage) as its so rare. Not many cars from major manufacturers only sell 3k.

Skoda will now drip feed the last new ones, through the dealership to maximise the selling price of a "Collector Car ", offseting some of the warranty cost over the last 5 years.

Might have to look at the new Clio rs when trade in time comes,I do still have 3years to wait before I go hunting for a new car again.

Enjoy them, not sure about the Renault as a replacement though

Tbh neither am I other wise I'd have looked at trading our last vrs against one. It's a tough one when you need an auto/dsg car that doesn't cost the earth to run. I'm sure something will pop within the next 3years :-)

Some very good demo / very low mileage vRS'S in dealers for around £13000-£14000, signs some dealers trying to capitalise on their demo  £14500 plus in one case £18000 for a hatch.

So what stocks are building up in the Skoda Stock Compounds or dockside?

Lupo GTi only sold 995 in the UK - the only body panel it shared with other Lupos was the tailgate - it had aluminium wings and bonnet and the windscreen was extra thin to save weight! The six-speed gearbox was unique to the car. I can't see VAG paying that much attention to detail again in a sub-£15k car (think the list price was £13,995). Easily my favourite car of the ones I've owned. I bought it when it was a few months old and kept it for four years - the lack of depreciation was fantastic! Unfortunately, the pristine example I sold was ruined by the subsequent owner. I love niche cars, which was a big part of the vRS's appeal to me - no Minis or Fiestas for me (as good as they may be).

Mind you, I remember reading somewhere that one generation of the Honda Legend had total UK sales of eleven cars!*

*Edit: Think this might have been in one particular year rather than total period of availability.

Genuinely have no idea what to replace our vRS Estate with when the time comes. A Mk3 Fabia vRS would have been a no-.brainer but without that option I can't see what skoda could have to offer us? The Octy3 vRS is a nice enough car but too bloody huge, can't see SWMBO driving it tbh. The mk3 Fabias will all be too slow, the Roomster and Rapid look terrible inside and out and the lovely Citigo is too small. Just leaves the Yeti as the only tempting choice. 2.0TDi 170 4x4 with a tuning box or remap could have some appeal.

The again if rumours of a Golf R Estate are true then I would be tempted indeed to stump up the cash for one....:

we looked at a golf R the other day, bloody lovely car it was..... too rich for my blood though :(
