Want to give your Yeti the low "Slammed" look?

Featured Replies

Well if you like your car's low & mean, then take off the roof bars. Gives the car a whole new persona...

Not for you? No, not for me or aerofurb either - was just part of the process of swapping our roof bars from one to the other!

Nice to meet another member - Jerry (aerofurb) is a really nice helpful chap. Had a good nose around the lovely Tibet3, which is now sporting black bars to go with the black mirror covers he has fitted, while mine has another bit of silver to match the sill protection mouldings.

2 happy owners!

seems like a backwards step given that your roof is black.

I quite like the look with bars off and I actually could see that looking good in combo with Coilovers or Air Ride.

Also, is that a vRS badge?

Is that a Bronze facelift?  I saw one of those a couple of weeks ago - can't be many around.

Gotta say, without the bars it looks a bit HR-V.  Then again, I kinda like the HR-V.

Now I like that clean looking roof!

Wonder if there's anything to fill the holes in with if the bars are removed...

Nice to see swapsies still going on, and outside of the school playground.

The VRS badge is not for me.

But I like the look of your car overall.

Also I think the "without roofbars" kind of suits the new shape Yeti better.

Doesn't look as bad as I thought it would, and it would make getting aerial cables into the car easier.

Still don't like the black B pillars or the vrs badge though!

Ouch

:)

And a view from the bronzed side of the hangar:

The roof rails are held in place by four 2" (or so) splined Torx bolts. The front and rear covers unclip very easily (inner top edge peeled outboard and then slightly forwards (backwards for the rear covers) as they also engage under the roof rail centre section). The rails themselves locate in two 1/2" square holes at either end.

Amazing how low the Yetis looked sans rails. Also, it was interesting how everyone that wandered into the hangar whilst we did the rail swop, spotted the vRS badge and went 'Wow! The fast version'. Okay, so some people don't know that there isn't a Yeti vRS but they all recognised the badge!

Wouldn't it be a boring world if we all liked the same thing - or perhaps some would prefer it that way?

Thanks Dave (137699) - a pleasure to do (free!) business!

Looking good there Jerry!

Guys may I ask how you got hold of the silver roof bars?

If you had read the full post, the L&K comes with silver roof bars, but the owner really wanted black bars to suit the rest of his Yetis looks, another owner wanted silver bars, so a swap was done.

Thanks. I was on the train with crap signal and couldn't load the 1st page.

Prefer it without the blacked out B pillar to be honest.. It's a nice feature on Yeti especially when it's a lighter colour. New roof rails are a nice touch. :)
