Rattly Fabia's?

Featured Replies

Took a 2008 Fabia II 1.9 PD 3 with 60,000 miles out for a test drive today; engine was nice and nippy in the size car, and not as noisy as I'd have thought, but the internal trim in the car doesn't seem to have held up very well - even on straight, evenish roads there were quite a few rattles (sounded to be mostly from the doors).  Is this common?

We've had five Fabia's and only our current Monte has exhibited any noticeable trim creaks/rattles, however it is running on the 'sport' suspension plus 17" rims and the roads surfaces are very poor around here.

My vrs has rattles. Seems to be coming from the gloves boxes :-(

Yes mine rattles, even above the noise of the stereo (which is usually on loud!)

The plastics seem cheaper than in the Octavia, you get used to it after a while!

Yep mine rattles like a box of tic tacs. Keep meaning to dismantle it and put it back together just to tighten everything back up.

Shame, it is probably enough to put me off the cars. Thanks for the replies :)

Mine isnt too bad. Theres a rattle in the back that comes occasionally but most the time theres nothing much.

But then, mines an SE (softer suspension and bigger tyre sidewalls) with 12500 miles on.

Iv got my fingers crossed that more rattles dont occur as the miles go up.

I have just lined my glove box with self adhesive foam (on my brand new vrs!) And the one anyone rattle it did have is gone.

Yeah! Aha. It must save a tiny bit of money by not putting them on.

Should come standard though IMO.

You have to get the SE or above to get a few things that should be standard. (Body coloured door handles etc)

The mk1 classic is a good car! Very liveable with day to day and it doesn't feel under equipped either! Says he with the green Fabia that has a tape deck
