abs fault

Featured Replies

I got my mate to hook up vagcom on my car last night because the abs warning light is on. Its bought up open circuit on front right. In what order is it best to check things and how? Cheers

Surely your first port of call is to stick a new sensor on the O/S/F, as indicated by Vagcom? You could try cleaning the connections which costs nothing, but if it is knackered, then it is knackered.

Check the connectors. Then check the measuring blocks and see if you're getting any sort of reading from the sensor. Just to confirm it, checked the resistance of the sensor. If it's wrong, replace it

Iv just checked the voltage to the plug and im getting 2.39v is this normal? Or should I be getting 12v?

Just bridged it with a wire. The light underneath the abs light went out. The one with a ! And a arrow going around it. The ring the abs sensor detects looks fine. Im struggling to test the sensor tho as I cant turn the disc brake and hold the multimeter in place. Im going to try and remove the sensor to see how it looks.

As you are taking it off, spend £12 and put in a new one. (ebay price)

Anyone got the tps Part number. Woukd rather use genuine parts if iv gotta replace it. Got the allen bolt out but the sensor is stuck in there.

Any tips for removing it?

I think i read that removing them pretty much involves destroying them

Really? As in just trash it lol.

If your replacing it just give it death. Im sure i read on here once that they dont come out so need to be trashed

Did you ohm test the sensor? It should be 1000-1300 ohms. At 60 RPM of the wheel, the sensor should produce a minimum of 65mV AC.

The sensors are almost impossiple to remove with damaging them. You will require a chisel, punch and hammer for starters!
