They came off nice and easy really, only slight issue i had was on the drivers side front door where it appears to have an excess of laquer applied during factory build, that or the bump strip was applied too soon after being sprayed maybe?

it a tad annoying as i now know its there lol, any know if i could get the excess laquer taken down with a machine polish or?

Anyone have any ideas on the above?

ChrisRS would probably be able to answer rhis

Does it not look like the door has had a repair done at some time in the past?

Not sure what the picture is showing.

Is that a cut through the Red Paint?

Thanks for replies, as far as i know the car hasnt had any repair work done in the past so im sure that its gotta be from factory :< .

The picture isnt the clearest unfortunately but what its attempting to show is the the door paint appears totally normal apart from an embossed line of what appears to be lacquer? the line of lacquer runs along exactly where the bump strip top edge sat?

no cuts to the red paint , but worried that that i may have unearthed something nasty  , can copious amounts of lacquer be trimmed back and re-lacquered if this is the case?

must say it looks much nicer without them :) just hope you get that issue sorted

I would have said, but I'm no expert, that IF it's only the clear coat it should be fairly easy to remove the lump, if not by machine polishing then by wet sanding and polishing in worst case, but if it's the bottom coat of paint that's run then been sprayed over with clear coat then you'd be looking at a respray as any attempt to skim the bulge off would have to cut through the clear coat completely. As I say I'm definitely no expert on any of this but just my 2ps worth.

Indeed, im hoping its the first bit, certainly just looks like clearcoat to me, its almost like dried superglue to touch

Well hopefully it should be a cheap and easy fix for you.

+1 on Toxic's post.

Maybe post in the 'styling and car care' section.

ChrisR will know what to do :).
