Estelle 120L & 130GL

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm new to this forum and perhaps a bit of an imposter as unfortunately I'm not going to be a Skoda owner much longer!

I have just sold my Banham Spyder body shell and have been left with all the Skoda bits and feel that, rather than taking them to be weighed in at the scrap yard, there must be some people out there wanting at least some of them.

I have;

A complete 120L rolling chassis. It had covered 77,000 miles and was well looked after and regularly serviced. Engine, pedal box and radiator are removed but with it.

A 130GL in pieces. This had covered 44,000 miles when I dismantled it. I intended using the parts on the 120 chassis. I kept just about everything that came off, fuel tank front and rear suspension, (re bushed), steering rack with new track rod ends etc etc.... I'm 99% certain that it has a 5 speed gearbox. It has a set of four Skoda alloys with good tyres.

The car, engines and all the bits have been dry stored in my garage for the last 12/13 years.

I'm not looking for a fortune for the bits, a contribution that I can pass on to the local landlord to help with a mild beer addiction wouldn't go amiss!

I'm in Minehead, Somerset

Hi HifiWill,

I'm in the process of breathing life back into a Rapid 135 injection, so you might have some parts that I don't realize that I need yet.

I suppose at this stage I would be most interested if you had any or all of parts that would convert the injection system on the 135 to carburetor and the ignition from ecu to conventional coil etc.

ie. items like a carburetor, inlet and exhaust manifolds [alloy head], exhaust system, distributor, coil, etc.

The main problem I have is that the main silencer on my 135 has well and truly rusted through, its unique to this model and despite extensive searches online, replacements appear unobtainable.

So it might be best for me to ditch all the unique stuff for parts I can replace

Regards

Billie897 - none of the 130/120 stuff is going to be useable as they run iron 5 port engines.....except possibly the carb but it would probably need re-jetting. Have you contacted Skoparts Int or got in touch with the Skoda OC - Briskoda is not great for the old rear engined cars.

Hi Hawkeracing, - Thanks for your post, I didnt know 130s the had the 5 port cast iron head, live and learn eh? So like you say really, not what I need.

I did contact Paul Wyatt at Skoparts Int over 2 weeks ago for some engine parts but after an initial 'I'll get back to you' I haven't heard from him, so not a great start.

I do realize that Briskoda is mostly for vw skodas, I also run an 1.9tdi Octavia 2 Elegance as my daily driver but with parts for old Skodas being so hard to find now, you have to look every where.

Thanks again

Paul is a one man band with a real job as well but he does get there- you just need to give him a nudge sometimes. If you aren't on the Skoda OC Facebook page then you should join....many more RWD people over there with parts and knowledge

Ref the exhaust, go and have a chat with a local garage or a smaller branch of an exhaust fitter. IME they're usually quite good at making new systems from "right size" parts, or recommending someone local who will do so.

Hi HifiWill,

I'm looking for a 130 engine & a few minor bits and bobs such as rubber fuel filler neck pipe & interior bonnet release mechanism. Can you help?

Thanks,

Ian
