Artdeshine Keegan

Featured Replies

Recently applied this to my Yeti and topped with a layer or two of ADS Nano Gloss Paint Sealant (NGPS V2) to help prevent any spotting.

Wow that's some seriously good reflections.

Nice car choice by the way! :)

Awesome work mate - that is a really nice finish on the Yeti! I love it!

Very nice

Can you outline the preparation and application process you used please?

Did you cure it with IR lamps? Looks great! Keegan is another quality product from ArtDeShine

I'm interested in a lot if not all the coatings that ArtDeShine do, but they don't explain anything on their website.

Like what's the difference between them. It doesn't explain how they are applied how long you leave them on the durability, if you can use other products after.

I'd have so many questions for them after having a good look.

I have sicko on the way, but i know nothing about it.

I feel if they explained the products they might sell a lot more.

I would drop Matt an email :

[email protected]

Or give him a call.

He can explain it all for you!

This^^

And check out their manufacturers section on DW, loads of good info.

Matt is pretty much solely selling to people who have found the product themselves or via recommendation at the minute I think and yet the demand is awesome. I have never seen a scrum like the artdekotsos group buy.

Thanks, I'll probably drop him a call, try and get as much info as I can.

Cheers guys.

Good heavens, now that was a free for all.  As said above, give Matt or call or email him.  He's a top bloke with a wealth of knowledge and very honest in his opinion of the products he sells.

Thanks for all the comments guys, it's not quite as perfect as it looks but as a daily runner I am very happy with it.

Chris, I'm only a weekend warrior and only look after my own car.  Anyhoo, the car was given a good wash using G3 Body Prep shampoo/Surfex HD  which also gave me the opportunity to try the G3 Clay Mitt I bought.  I think I was a little heavy handed with it as it left some marring, car was then rinsed off using pure water from my DI Vessel and left to dry (a must for everyone, no more trying to dry the car off before the sun burns watermarks on to your paint).  I then gave it a wipe down with  panel wipe and then proceeded with a light polish using Scholl S30 and Nanotech Super Gloss on green and blue Hex-Logic pads.  It was then giving another wipe or two before applying the Keegan, ideally these coatings should be cured under IR lamps or left for at least 24 hours undercover but as I don't have access to either (well, I do have a garage but access to it is nigh on impossible with the Yeti) it was left at the mercy of the weather which was kind to me.

The Keegan was applied using a CarPro foam block and suede cloths, it's spreads really easily allowing me to do the smaller panels in one go and the bonnet etc. was halved.  You can buff off straight away using a plush microfiber, using the light to watch for any streaks. I then left it for 3 hours and went round it again using the NGPS V2 to prevent any spotting whilst the coating cured, again this is not the ideal application method and will probably affect the longevity but that doesn't really bother me.  NGPS V2 was also used on the trim and glass as it a very versatile product, on your paint it with leave a very deep gloss that is so slick.  Just 2-3 squirts panel, spread and then buff off, I used a CarPro Boa super plush cloth for this.  It can be used over or under a wax and is a very good partner to ADS Artdekotsos wax.

Many thanks

Are you sure the Keegan had cured properly before adding the NGPS?

Is the NGPS necessary?

Sorry to ask so many questions...Ive never used either

Thanks for the thorough explanation ADS have some great products, enjoy.

I believe NGPS can go over the coatings and will protect them while they cure underneath Chris.

Cheers Mark..I did wonder

Just to add further, this is the blurb on Keegan -

"Artdekeegan is a PHPS hybrid coating. The new PHPS coatings are a more durable product that help protect against dust, salts, water spotting and corrosion. Best suited to dark cars and warm solid colours, it has a deep gloss finish and helps to reduce dirt build up and water spotting

Durability upto 18 months (curing with IR lamps is recommended)

Will withstand chemicals from PH 4 through to 12, and maintenance with our nano shampoo is recommended for standard maintenance washes"

I've highlighted the bit about longevity as this is becoming more and more apparent with these types of coatings, to get the best out of them they really do need to be cured without any water/moisture contact in the first 24 hours.  You hear so many people complaining that this and that coating didn't last as long as stated but if the application is not correct and like me you're doing this outdoors, then it's just not possible as you are having to compromise.

Chris, as Mark has mentioned the NGPS is used the same way as Reload is after applying CQuartz.  Speaking to Matt and Alfred (Artdeshine's founder), they recommended giving at least 3 hours before applying any other coating etc.  I also have ArtdeSpiros which I was going to put over the Keegan, this is more Hydrophobic than Keegan.

Indeed..... same idea as Reload and Cquartz combo that i have from CarPro; and took advice from Craig Hall on cure process.

If you use the panel temp gun and get panel readings you can calculate cure time quite accurately.

Sounds like an essential piece of kit that temp gun, assume them that know what they are doing have them as part of their kit. Never tried any coatings myself, apart from alloy & glass coatings.

Well - i know that they are always playing with the formulations on these type coatings to ease application and curing regime;

but temperature and humidity measurements help accurately ascertain the curing time required.

Thanks Neil

I think I shall need a donor car to experiment on before I apply to a clients'

Wayne....I need you car!!  LOL

Has anyone tried BSD over this?

I imagine it would make a great base

Well as BSD is the "best" product ever, apparently, then I suspect it doesn't matter really what base there is, lol

  • 2 weeks later...

Many thanks for the sample ArtDeShine Nano Gloss Paint Sealant V2 Neil

Now a decision on what to apply it over

  • Author

Whatever you use it on, I think you will be impressed with the results. :D

Gave the yeti it's first wash yesterday since applying the Keegan, sorry no pictures.  It was a task just getting the water to stay on the car and I must have stood there, hose in hand (easy now!), for about 10 minutes just spraying the car and watching the water fly off it.  I then used an open hose attached to my DI Vessel and left it to dry before breaking out my new can of Artdejohnson "Repel" coat.  I used a suede cloth to apply, just spray the product on to the cloth and wipe over the paint before buffing over.  Applied to paint, glass and trim, you can expect up to 6 months protection from one application.  Just looking forward to it raining now as it's supposed to be very hydrophobic. :rain:  :rain:  :rain:  :D
