Getting ready for winter

Featured Replies

Before we know it the snow, frost, salt and dirt will be here so whats recommended for this time of year?

My car is topped with poorboys ex-p sealent, would you recommend another layer? Im not one for getting the cleaning equipment out when the temperature outside is just above freezing. More likely to blast it over with a jetwash at morrisons..

TIA

EX-P is a good sealant but it really has only a durability of 2 months before it need reapplying

So it wont see you through the winter with one application

Reapply now

I would then top that every third wash with some Sonax BSD

Forgot to mention ive been using madcow ultraviolet after the wash too.

Will get another layer on of ex-p sealent soon. Wheres the best place to get sonax bsd?

If you fancy trying something new, give fusso coat a try by soft99 available at nippon shine. It's a hybrid wax, they claim 12 month but I think you would get Half of that which would see you through winter.

Or you could use collinite 845 or jetseal 109 or power seal by auto finesse and top it up every other week with tough coat.

There are plenty of sealants out their. Have a read about them and enjoy shopping for one that suits you.

Thank you dinski

. Wheres the best place to get sonax bsd?

There's a current thread on that very subject (well the 5l version) but I'll summarise...

Cyc for 5 litres or if

  • you live within collection range,
  • or you plan on spending £100 to get free delivery

(dont forget the discount code)

Savers choice or ebay/amazon if you only want the smaller one, or the above dont apply.  No need to pay more than 12.95 delivered unless you want to support a specific detailing supplier.

Agree with Dinski, soft99 Fusso should see you through the winter months.

Also one that is overlooked a lot of the time is SNH and I still think it's one of the best, I used it all last winter with great results.
