Hellshine The Abyss wax

Featured Replies

This is his Wifes car in Post #47

spotted that Chris, but thankyou   B)  It was the actually the reason I asked,  I thought he had done it previously not too long ago, which would have prompted the question whether he felt the hellshine was so much better than what was currently on that Carl thought it worth stripping back and reapplying, or whether it was just time and Abyss is Carl's product of the moment.

I think the last LSP I had on it was Optishine tbh. But yeah I'm so satisfied with the abyss I wanted it on my wife's car too.

Plus it gave me a couple of reasons to test out some other products too :)

Still loving how this looks, although on close inspection it does need a clean now.

Alloys are filthy.

Used my spray version of abyss I bought in the AD sale today.

I have to say it's equally as good as the paste version, I only did the bonnet but it looks just the same as the paste did and it takes seconds to apply and it's much easier to get a very thin coat.

And I think it will literally last forever as I used 1 spritz to do the whole bonnet and that seemed too much so I used it to spread along wings so not to waste any.

I then left it 10 mins gave it the swipe test and buffed off to perfection.

It's still my favourite wax sealant I've used to date, I wander if AD actually know how good this wax/sealant is, id have paid double for either the spray or paste versions.

Here a few of my usual bonnet shot lol

Now look what youve done Carl  ...........Told everyone and now theyll all want it, making another sale doubtful!! ;)

I did my bonnet over the top of my homemade hybrid after it stopped raining this afternoon

Its really easy to use and a very very light spray on a sponge applicator did the whole bonnet and both front wings!!

Very impressive stuff

Couldn't agree more, I'd love to try some of these boutique waxes and see how they stack up against abyss, for me it's just a perfect all rounder. I've done 3 cars in abyss now and all have been the best details I've ever done.

I have to give credit to the product as I'm still a novice at this game.

I do think your car suits sealants Chris, but then again it always looks stunning!

I may still pop over tomorrow depending on weather if that's still ok?

Youre most welcome at any time

I might just get some over the rest of the car as well..

....but have to do the weekly shopping tomorrow morning now (Just founf out) as the wife has to take her mother for a hospital appointment

Simon is coming at 11.00..Steve is calling in tomorrow as well

Sealants are the way ahead I believe, so easy to use and...... I think, more versatile..trim etc...

Just seen this Chris, yeah I agree they are slowly taking over my wax collection.

I've just used spray abyss on the shower and bath and I have to say it's amazing, I love finding new uses for car care products.

The water behaviour in the basins bath and shower is just unreal, it's like watching liquid worms trying to escape.

It's not too slippy either, the one thing I would suggest you don't do that I did lol is get it anywhere near the bath sealant (yes it turned red) and I usuall think these things through.

Anyway it's worth a try if you fancy a go at it. I've used sonax BSD to do this before also and that worked great too, just hoping for more durability from abyss.

Sorry I didn't get to meet you today, hope you and Chris had a good en. If you give me your address I will send you some samples through the post, another promising product from the optishine range this been designed to work directly with the optishine carnauba ptfe superblend.

I will have more info on this probably tomorrow as I've only found out today when my I laws dropped me off loads of the stuff. Even though I said optishine didn't get much feedback he's eager to hand out samples.

No worries at all bud, you certainly didn't miss much by not meeting me, I'm not that entertaining.

The detail in the fog went ok I think, the products chosen didnt seem to mind the damp, I'll upload some pics if they come out ok as is was a bit gloomy.

Would be delighted to test out the samples, will pm you my address. Let me know what I owe you in due course.

so, quick meet up with Chris today for a follow up from his polish of my car a few months back. Another pass over the vertical panels of the car to remove the last of the swirling which could only be seen under a very harsh light. A little more machining tuition from Chris to consolidate the AB info then i set off with sonax 0406 on the das6 pro with orange pad, Chris working at the same time (but somewhat faster) with the DAS21. I'd given the side panels a quick hand polish earlier, so quick hit of tardis and eraser and sealant was applied.

The spray of the liquid abyss was applied to the majority of the car, except the bonnet and front wings which have become a test platform for the equally epically named "Dr Beasleys Plasma Coat". (Hellshine Abyss and Plasma Coat, you can tell this stuff is aimed squarely at blokes)

I imagine Chris will be a little more descriptive but the plasma coat and abyss spray both went on and off easily enough in very murky conditions and spread a log way.

pics to prove it happened.....

Looks cracking!

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the plasma coat a little further down the line, but I'm sure your gonna love the abyss. Reflection levels on your car look amazing Simon.

Good job both of you!

Pictures look great Simon, considering the failing light levels

Keep your eye on the sealants now youre testing them please...LOL

Youre getting into the groove with the DA too mate...Well done on those panels!!

Pictures did come out better than expected, maybe the S3 has some wizardry that enhances light levels?

Will keep a good eye on the panels over winter, no need to worry
