Need some help with VCDS programming an aftermarket Xenon Kit

Featured Replies

I know this topic is done to death and then some, Read through many threads, and options and advices, but I would be grateful if someone guided me to the process.

The car is a pre-FL Octavia II Vrs (June 2008), with projector type lights.

From a thread here, I found an ebay seller and got a non-canbus H7 kit

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330789047472?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I got the non canbus, since I read here that 1) canbus kits can blow controller modules, 2) the non canbus is ideal for my car, since there will be an option (in pre-FL anyway) with VCDS to "tick" and the light will work, without warning bulbs in the cluster

So, now, I "bribed" a friend to come over this weekend to perform the surgery with me and bring his VCDS

Can you please guide me, as to where we should look for this "enable Xenon" option in VCDS? He has some experience my friend, but he has a GTI mk5, and xenon already fitted from the factory, so no clue there

thanks!!!

have a search (Try HID install) through this forum. As you said it has been done to death and there are many excellent guides with pictures.

and followed BestyUK instructions, programmed (pre-FL Octavia II VRS), Xenon light up ok, no error codes or bulb mulfunctions

Will buy another Kit, as a spare

Also programmed the Anti-Hijack lock (after 15 km) and now have the VCDS cable for a month+ loan from a friend, to try also other mods.
