Front wheel beering

Featured Replies

Pretty sure my front right one is on the way out as turning left makes considerably more noise that going straight (and turning to the right is even quieter).

Been quoted £114 (inc) for parts and labour.  Normally I would do most things myself, but I have heard horror stories of people damaging ABS rings, so figure that maybe I am better off coughing up for this, rather than landing myself with a larger bill.

Therefore does that price seem reasonable (it is from the garage I normally use for my MOTs), or should I ring around a few more places?

Thanks.

I thought mine was on the way out...same symptoms as you.... turned out it was a dry outer cv joint....

114 sounds pretty reasonable ime...

I glanced at the boots the other day and checked they weren't split, although I guess it possible one might be the cause.  Hopefully if the garage get it up on the ramps they will soon work it out.  I

have a marathon to run on Saturday, so I am not too keen on crawling around on my garage floor in the meantime :-(

Mine wasn't split either.... I slipped the boot off and repacked it with grease and it it was a little better... Not saying it is that but worth trying
