No worries with a K Series. I drove my VVC engined Rover 200 all day, like I did in the video below, until it caught fire I then replaced the melted bits and took it back to the track two weeks late

  • There is also an STOC member bringing his Fiesta ST (mk7) for info. Hope you can make it, might be a bit of an eye opener.

I have a cheap car that would be great for the track.

It is a 2000 Audi A3 1.8T Quattro, easily tuneable for more power, very predictable on track (as I see with my Golf 4 motion) and all for less than a grand to take away today.

Strip it out, a few tweaks and you will have a fairly competitive car to start with, let me know if you are interested I can send you some pictures.

That would be a really good option as a track car having the Quattro system as well as an easily tuneable 1.8T

This could be a good idea actually, always been a quiet fan of audi's, they are VAG so i can only assume reliable :) .

Yeah and you could quite happily sell the interior!

aye, audi interior sells quite well, arent audi's generally well equipped, even the low spec ones?

Depends it will be well specced if a Quattro I'd guess

Makes no difference.

Quattro just means it has four wheel drive.

Everything is an optional extra, even cruise control.

Ahh right!

Vigyaz where are you located?

The best thing about buying a Fabia Classic is it has nothing serious to strip off

Nice, I reckon the Audi is a nice bet! The first step of tuning and bhp increase is to lose as much weight from the car as possible!

It won't have the nice balance of an MX5 though.

I swear to god this forum is going to kill my bank balance, you guys only fuel my buying of things :P

Why don't you come down to the Briskoda track outing at Brands Hatch on 3rd November before you make an impulse purchase?

Stripping a car makes money! Just the re assembly begins to cost

That^^^ I think there might be an MX5 going and also the Yeti is a version of the 1.8T with haldex so similar to an A3

Plus there will be a knackered Clio parked outside Brands too which you could turn into a track car too ;)

Lol, he already said he likes the look of my furby, he was looking at the VRS mk2 until he read about the engine / oil issues. he was into his cars long before me as hes a little older, but he made the original mistake of buying a punto... before he corrected it and bought a fiesta st mk6
