Help still got problems with door locking and windows!

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys

Put a post up a while ago.

My car has a weird issue.

The drivers door would not open on the key fob to start with.

Then it decided that it would not close the drivers window - good ole gaffer tape comes in handy.

Then the boot would not lock on the key.

Then the window decided to close when I tried it.

The fuse sometimes is ok, then it blows and I replace it, then it goes again.

Does anyone have a wiring loom link so I can see what I am looking out?

Do I need to change the control box or similar - not sure where to go with this it is driving me mad.

Thanks

Fuse blowing is likely to be a short to ground somewhere in the wiring. Other posts have shown wiring insulation has been scraped away on the wiring as it passes from the door to the car body (B pillar). Investigate the wires around the flexible coupler. Pull it back so you can see the wires.

Is this the same car where you've had the loom replaced?

Send it back to the dealer. Are you sure they fitted a new loom, window regulator etc ? Those things are pretty expensive when they could have just tied some wires together in a dodgey way and this is causing the fuse issue.
