Is it a straight forward job to change the belt tensioner on a Octavia vrs.

Ive had the belt changed (the one that goes around the alternator/air con etc) but it still screeches when i start up the car especially when i have the climate on.

Pretty easy to change, but need to be careful as there si not a lot of clearance between the tensioner's pulley and the cambelt casing. Need to adjust the tensioner pulley to run central on the belt using the lower of the three mounting bolts, and use thread lock on the bolts. Also when removing the tensioner, it's best to put a suitable wrench on the end of the tensioner to release the tension. two small holes can be alligned & a nail of a suitable size pushed thru to keep the tensioner in this position (new tensioner will come in this position).
