Hi just joined the forum and was after a few tips.

 

I have just purchased a 2 owner Octavia VRS estate with 84000 on the clock, It has been neglected by the guy i bought it off as he has been ill, It needs discs and pads and a cam belt, water pump change, i only paid £1250.00 for it so i think i did alright. i want to get a remap eventually and will be working towards that but i need to get it back o health first. besides the cam belt and discs is there anything else i need to do in the short term to bring it back from the brink. 

 

I know a lot is probably covered throughout the site but i dont want to miss something obvious and have an expensive failure.

only thing that springs to mind is the rear callipers
