Too Pricey ?

Featured Replies

Quote for fitting Cruise control to my Octy £175 + VAT (I will supply stalk) + £75 + VAT to fit DRL's (I will supply DRL's).

Seem too pricey ?

£175 in labour just for a stalk? Yes, that is too much. It's a job you can do yourself - but you need VCDS to code the car.

Fitting CC takes under an hour (plus leaving it to sit after disconnecting the battery, before fiddling with the airbag). So £175 labour seems very steep.

It's the airbag that's putting me off !!

Disconnect the battery, leave it 30-60 mins, then it's two clips and a plug to remove it. Dead easy.

That's a pretty standard price, but yeah it is dear.

It was a £180 option in 2007.

Yep, I've coded it on another members car - he did the stalk fitting. Coding was the easy bit.

The stalk came with a wire in the box, does this need wiring in or just the stalk replacing ?

Had stalk changed on warranty at main dealer. Got a print out Price was £125, supply and fit new stalk. So £175 just to fit is very steep

That is steep, I don't charge that to supply and fit.
