Nexen winterguard tyres

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm looking at a set of these tyres for up coming winter months.

Does anyone have reviews / opinions on these?

Matt

I have a set in the garage that I used at Christmas time when it was cold and with what little snow came they certainly did the job.

We had a set on our Fabia II vRS...

They were brilliant in ice, snow and just wet, cold roads..

Would highly recommend

Thanks all for the info :)

I run the summer variant on my A5 and they are impressive to be honest, I'd certainly recommend them

They are ok, used them on an old BMW a few years back.  Best winter tyres i have found overall are Pirelli Sottozeros but you may for them, they were superb on my 130i in proper snow, however last year on my second 130i i used hankooks and they were not as good initally, they did not like BMW's winter tyre pressures at all and i had to drop them down a lot to get good grip, i was going sideways a lot on roundabouts but not great when you don;t want to be doing that, like rushour.

I have Kumho's this year for the VRS, but what i will say is this, Winter tyres are good, in fact you are mad not to use them in the UK and in my opinion it should be the law. However you have to remember winter tyres still do not perfom as well as summer tyres on a dry hot day, so when you do fit winter tyres you need to drop your speed a little to compensate for the conditions regasrdless.

Alll the Nexen tyres I have tried are good.

Use the Winguards on the Fabia VRS for two winters now and have the summer version N~FERE afe they are good too, better than the Contis they replaced but slightly less good than the Michelin PS3s put not worth twice the price different.

Just order set of 4 Nexen All seasons for the Fabia HTP too.

Best place to order is Openeo, tyres come in about 5 days and are between £45-55 inc delivery.

I have six rims for each car so I can fit a pair if weather turns and get the other pair change at tyre depot.
