Just ordered new X Trail....

Featured Replies

Folks, I've just placed an order for the new Nissan X Trail and I've never been sadder

Now then, i should point out that i want / need 7 seats now which obviously the Yeti doesn't have....ive got on a 2 year deal so i can hand it back in time for the LWB Yeti (which hopefully will have 7 seats)

I take delivery in Jan 15 so I'm going to make the most of Yeti between now and then....damn i love my Yeti

Back to the X Trail - it feels solid and well made inside prob on a par with the SM, handling is acceptable for a big old car, it is very comfortable though and according to the wife the rear seats are a lot more comfortable (oooo eerrr)

So ill miss the Yeti which i still tell people today is the best car on the road given its size, handling, capability & price (IMHO of course)

So WHY put the order in for an X-Trail??    :dull:

The clue is in the 2nd paragraph.

We had a first-generation X-Trail for nearly seven mainly happy years.  I would have been inclined to stick with the marque if the replacement had had a better towing rating in its auto form.  A friend still has one and we enjoy our occasional trips in it as passengers.  The second-generation X-Trail is - and feels - bigger than ours was and it's now a totally different car from the Yeti.  After two years with Annie, there's no way we'd go back but our needs have changed and, dammit, the SM is more fun  than the X-Trail ever was.

Mickemo's needs have changed too, he says, so we can't really criticise his choice.  He's going to miss his Yeti, though!

Oh yes, so it does................................DOH!!!!!!

Spot on Brijo with your summary...my family's needs have changed ( 7 seats a must) thus so does the car

To be honest I've never had such an adaptable and fun car to drive as the Yeti...and stating the obvious to all you fellow forum members, the X Trail isn't a patch on the Yeti for driving fun...I keep telling myself that the full glass opening sunroof will make up for it

Of course it won't

OK so you have a requirement not fulfilled by the current Yeti so I think your resolution looks good, especially as it's only for two years. Then hopefully back to a LWB Yeti.

As a matter of interest for you. a friend had an X-Trail which he loved and changed to a Honda CRV. I was amazed when he told me he found the X-Trail a far better vehicle than the CRV. So it seems a good choice.
