From one of my facebook people....

Got back from our fantastic honeymoon this afternoon to find a space on the driveway where the golf should have been. Not what you need. It's probably in a shipping container by now, but there's a small chance some idiot could still be driving it round. Please like & share this post & maybe it'll help catch the ******s. DA63XYZ stolen from Altrincham 11.09.14 Thanks

I'll keep an eye out!

I'm not too far away, in Buxton

Bugger. :S

Sounds paranoid but if I were going away on holiday the key would be very well hidden. Gutted for them, fingers crossed it turns up

I would of took the keys with me tbf

Even if you take both sets of keys with you the scum is only going to trash your home trying to find them. If it was mine i would have parked it at a friends house or in a locked garage, shame you have to do this nowadays, you cant have a nice car without some scum thinking they can have take it.

No point hiding the keys. They'll just destroy your house.

Id Leave it at a mates or relatives too, if a locked garage isnt an option

manufacturers should offer a tracker as a low cost(ideally no cost) option.

My mate's A6 disappeared without the thieves needing a key...

 Shared on Facebook, fingers crossed

Theres no point saying ****e like "oh, i wouldnt have done that.."

Car's still nicked, and it was still a scumbag took it,

in all fairness, it couldve been towed away on a recovery truck these days!

So they trash your mates house with them in it? While you're on your holidays? Niiice :D

It'll have had different plates fitted pretty much as soon as it was taken. I'm sure the police will have checked the known locations for leaving stolen cars to see if they have trackers fitted. They found mine within hours, but as the thieves had taken a key, I had to wait approx 5 weeks for new locks!

As the gang that took our cars are in prison, I'm guessing a new gang has moved in to keep the patch warm for them  :swear:

My car is getting too old/worthless to bother about this now, but something I've considered in the past was getting a spare VAG key cut but not programming it into the immobiliser. So the thieves break into the house, find the 'dummy' key, go out and unlock the car but find it strangely won't start. I wonder how many would be bright enough to realise what was going on, or would they just assume the car is fekked?

The problem is that they might come back in the house, wake you up and threaten you (and/or you're family) until you hand over the correct key.

there seems to be a lot of theft going on with the VAG family recently (your golf, a mk1 VRS, octy vrs) so I've purchased a pay as you go tracker from Amazon, according to reviews it works so for the sake of £23 I've purchased one. Might be wise others do the same.

Been looking at these on ebay. Think i might buy this one.

I've purchased one, reading through the reviews a giffgaff pay as you go SIM card will be perfectly fine. If it doesn't do the job (which im sure it will) then it's only £23, but if it does work then it's a bargain.

Whoever the owner is, he/she has my sympathy!   It's a beautiful car and so obviously well cared for.

I have shared on Facebook with the "Parking Like A Tw4t" community who are car-spotters and hope somebody can come up with a sighting.   Good luck!

Too much of this going on now for my liking, especially VAG's, Audi's & BMW's.

Do these have one of those emergency spare keys in the car like some Audi's do? (hence why they were targeted :wonder: )

P.S - Hope they get their car back safe and sound.

Another good idea there, I assume you can transfer it to another vehicle as you please.
