Sticky car

Featured Replies

Hi

The controls in my car have become sticky and tacky, it's awful, gearstick and steering wheel mainly.

Can anyone recommend an interior car cleaning product to get rid of it, I've tried some, but they can make it worse.

Don't ask me what it is, 'cos I don't know, but it coincides with getting a dog, so maybe it's dog slobber.

Cheers

Martin

Nice hot water and a dish cloth has worked a treat on mine.

Just hot water, with nothing at all in it ?

Yes - nothing in it.

It took a bit of scrubbing but it cleaned up nicely and there was no chance of damaging any of the trim.

Mine too, hot water and a dishcloth too, got all the grubby marks off with very little effort & safely.

I use hot water and a little Fairy to clean mine (I have sweaty hands!) and its always soft and smooth afterwards. I like it to all look matt, unlike how shiny it looks after 1000 miles of me driving it! I use the same on all the interior plastics, dash etc... works a treat.

Did that thanks, I used very very hot water which has helped.

A second go will probably get it sorted.

Cheers

Do none of you watch 'How clean is your home' on C4 ??? Apparently ANYTHING can be cleaned with a little warm water and a little lemon juice !!!!
