probably done to death but how do you go about purchasing this .? It looks as if I may not be able to change my fuel filter without priming the lines before restarting the engine ! The car has now done 30,000 miles and thought it's about time to change it , however I may break it so need to purchase this gizmo

Try a website called Gendan

Bought mine from "Ilexa" - "ILEXA" - i forget it com or co.uk

either of the above.

£250 :( jeez I only need to change bloody fuel filter ! Anyone in angelsey with this nugget ?

A vacuum pump or turning the ignition on/off a few times is generally enough to get the filter primed, we've never used VCDS for the job.  Be very, very careful when doing a fuel filter, get the sealing faces clean and don't knick any of the seals when reassembling.  I've seen too many engines that have been ruined by shredded auxiliary belts due to leaks from recently changed filters.

Hi fordy ive seen on the tube a guy soaking the filter first from the outside edge before reinstating it , so empty the fuel filter holder and give it a good clean and re-adding the diesel (clean) to the original level when removing the old filter and close it back up , then plenty of turns of the key and hey presto ?

is it still common practice to rub some grease around the rubber seal before refitting?

I didnt grease my seal before putting it back together . just give the top a tap down to make sure its square (flush) on the housing .
