Engine Management Light = Intake Manifold Flap Sensor

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Not been on for some time but thought I'd post a quick question in relation to an issue thats just cropped up with my car.

I have a 2010 petrol Octavia vRS thats just done 27500 miles. I've owned it from new and had four years of joyful and happy motoring.

Recently after a long road trip back from Cornwall, my engine management light came on.

The car was due a service and MOT, so I booked it in at my local VAG specialist, who was far more competitive for service costs.

They did a diagnostic check and it came back as a P2015 fault. Basically it looks like I need a new intake manifold flap sensor. Looking at a bill of around £500 supplied and fitted all in!

Spoken to SKODA UK to see if they would consider any goodwill contribution but they want an official diagnostic from the main dealer before they'd even consider referring my case to one of their review team. That alone costs £90!

So, just wanted to know if anyone has any good experience from Skoda regarding goodwill.

I appreciate the car is almost one year out of warranty but the dealer seemed to think the cars full history and low mileage would certainly put things in a positive light.

Getting a SKODA main dealer to diagnose the same fault at a cost of £90 then for SKODA UK to turn around and decide not to offer anything is what I think is the likely outcome. :(

Personally I'm just thinking of getting the specialist to fit the part and crack on as I don't have much chance of getting anything from Skoda UK.

Cheers folks

Edd
