Can you help solve problem? Ford forum cannot!

Hi

Take the fuel tank out & check the fuel pump sender for crap in the tank or sender unit itself, also change the fuel filter, when the filter is removed give it a quick shake & then drain fuel out, think it will come out brown in colour. Over the years I have worked in a ford dealer I have come across this problem on a few occasions on the mk 1 focus especially the st170
