2009 Octavia VRS Diesel CR, strange loss of ignition

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I hope someone can point me in the right direction. I am the proud owner of a VRS Diesel Octavia which in all fairness has been flawless unless just now. While fuelling up tonight, i went to lock the car to go and pay and there was no alarm activation, infact when I put the key into the ignition there was absolutley nothing, just blackness staring back at me!!!! I left the car went in and payed, jumped back into the car and it was all fine again bar the mileage and clock had reset and the electric windows had lost their one touch operation ( I had to hold the button up for them to close). Logic is telling me this could be an immobiliser issue, or maybe not? Any ideas or pointers would be very much appreciated!

Is it still on the original battery??

doesn't sound like an immobilser issue

1st off check the battery

get a scan done with vcds to see if there is a fault with the ignition switch

also could be a sticky relay on terminal 15
