Hi guys, My Octy starts no problem when cold but when it's hot it's struggles, The engine turns then sort of ''lurches'' into action, Battery is ok, Anyone else had this problem before? Is it normal?

Either battery or starter motor are the common causes of this. You may think the battery is ok but chances are it's starting to loose power.

Camshaft position sensor, not used when eng cold hence good start , used when hot hence poor start. Scan the car with VCDS to confirm.

Yes had this problem i changed a number of things e.g coolant temp sensor no change

Battery no change starter motor no change

Vcds scan hall sensor/cam shaft position fault. sensor changed the car starts perfect ever since recommend getting vcds scan done first before trying to change anything

Is changing the cam shaft sensor a diy job?

Suppose it depends on the engine

I have a 08 1.9 TDI bxe was fairly handy to do myself can be done with out removing cam belt
