OSR sidelight not working

Featured Replies

Hi

The OSR sidelight doesnt work on my 03 plate mk1 octavia but the indicators and brake light do, i have recently replaced the unit as the old one was cracked when i brought the car.

I have also tried new bulbs and switching the units over but doesnt make a difference.

Would anyone be able to tell me if the osr sidelight has a fuse and where its located? My octavia didnt have a handbook when i brought it ;(

First switch on the sidelights and see if the front offside light is lit. If it is, then the fuse is not blown and you will have to check the wiring in and to the non working light unit.

If both are unlit, then check fuse 22, 5 Amps which is probably blown. If it blows again then look for a chafed cable or fault in a light unit.

If you have tow bar fitted then check the wiring where it connects to the car (usually in the boot on the left hand side).

To get to the fuse box, open the driver's door and pull off the grey plastic panel which forms the side of the dashboard. Fuse 22 is in the left hand column, third one down.

To recycle some old images

You only need to remove the lower section of trim:
