Sorry to ask the obvious question, but, have you put the battery in the right way around? And is it fitting against the contacts properly?

No offence taken, I wondered the same thing myself.  And yes battery is in the right way.   And now the spare key (which I have not even opened) is also not working.

At least I now know how to start the car without a working key. :)

Car goes in for a service next week so will see what they come up with.

Update on this.   Car went in for service today and they replaced the batteries with ones from their own stock and both keys worked immediately.    So my batteries (purchased online) were the problem.   They have correct voltage, but I guess not enough power.

So how do you start the car without a working key? My key battery was about to die but i change it on time. Just to know for another time.

you place the fob next to the start/stop button and push it.  there is a RFID tag/reader as a fall back.

Yep, And I now know that this backup method works.   :)

I just replaced the cr2025 with a cr2032 and, although it didn't go under the tab that holds it in, it seems to fit OK with the cover back on and works OK too.

Must try this - I'm currently using 1 key to unlock car (with a fault key mechanism) and other key with no battery for ignition :D
