Spec lists

Featured Replies

Are there any spec lists out for the new Fabia yet? Does anybody know if it'll have auto wipers/lights?

If it doesn't then you may need to use a good old fashioned VW standard spec light switch and wiper stalk and your own judgement as to when to switch them on.

Only joking, I don't think they've been available on the Fabia but I may be wrong.

Would say so, as you can get them on the Rapid and I'd imagine the Fabia III will have have an even better options list, with a number of items being available that are currently found on the Octy III going by the photos released so far.

Just a question really how restrictive Skoda UK are on what we get offered here. Traditionally they offer items such as sunroofs etc. then withdraw them within months of launch due to demand. Can see this easily happening again with the Fabia III, as we have the glass roof on the Spaceback and it's a great option, so can imagine high demand. Also the Fab III looks quite a big step forward on the current car in terms of design, which is a big seller despite its age and lack of fancy options, so should be and even more popular.

the CZ site seems to indicate yes, rain sense wipers and auto lights (rain and lights assist), but whether skoda UK ut them in the UK spec not a clue

stop/start on all models

keyless entry (prob upper models)

front and rear parking sensors

speed limiter (not just cruise)

front assist (similar to citigo citysafe, but seems to be active at higher speeds)

driver fatigue detection

tpm

rear brake light flash under heavy braking

up to 6 airbags

so looking like less difference between a fabia and a golf, so how are VW going to justify the premium for a VW?

Stop /Start will be or should be there with the Engines being fitted, because if not the Engines are not actually meeting the C02 G/km Emmisions that are given for the Euro 6 Engines.

Or be anyplace near the Fuel Consumption figures that Skoda Publish that they supposedly get from their Testing

which can be on vehicles that have Stop / Start Function and an Operating Stop / Start System.

Obviously on journeys where you drive from A to B and do not Stop & Start, or in Cold Weather,

then the System saves you no fuel.

Yet when it has come to some Engines in the past with say Euro 5 Emission Figures, when the cars are fitted with a DSG, the Stop /Start is then not on the cars that are Delivered and available.

So it will be interesting when cars reach the UK Dealerships just what is fitted,

Standard, Options & Functioning,  Stop / Start.  Spare Wheel as Standard or as an Option.

Weights and Measures as the car sits with Option Alloys and Spare wheel in.

rather than the 'Average Lighter Weights', that VWG / Skoda like to quote.

Do all 3rd generation models highest point of the roof actually sit 3 cm lower than the Equivalent Mk2 Model.

I am excited to see what 2 cm of extra front interior space actually feels like.

I'm curious to know if the panoramic roof opens :(

Believe its a fixed glass roof like the Spaceback from the internal and external images I've seen to date.

Prices that i have seen so far,  'Auto Express', (Possibly Fiction reading)

suggest this is going to be expensive cars at List Prices, and well specced.

If they sell well, then maybe the official prices will be near the paying price,

if they flop after the initial interest, then maybe the usual 'Discounting & offers'.

Maybe the biggest discounts from the release of the 'New Fabia', will be on the 'Rapids' Rapid Spacebacks',

rather than on remaining Mk2 Models.

The New Fabia Estate might be a big seller for Skoda if they can produce enough,

and hit sales on some of the Bigger / Expensive Models.

A New Fabia Estate (Combi) with a 1.8TSI 192 ps / 141kW Manual or DSG Options might be a highly desirable car in the UK.

(as is going in the Polo GTI)

But then VW's not going to want Skoda building something like that,

even though it must be rather easy to.

Prices are higher but it looks like you're getting a lot more Fabia for your bucks.

just looking £2k premium for a diesel :(

no price for GLIII :(

SE looks best value, only thing of interest on the SE L is the LED DRL's rest of it they can keep

you now need to do silly milage to justify a diesel on cost alone, my fabia GLII costs 10.7p/mile in fuel, wifes citigo is 11.7p/mile at £2000 difference between a 1.2TSi 90PS and 1.4TDi 90PS  with roughly same MPG figures there is no way to justify a diesel on economy alone

I may have to break with nearly 20 years of diesel motoring and become a petrol head again (god I hate the smell of the stuff)

I became a petrol head again after a few years of diesels and wouldn't consider going back.

My next purchase is looking like a 1.2 TSI 109 SE Estate or Monte spec as they'll be out the middle of next year when I'm possibly looking to change anyway.

Diesels don't do it for me any more, small turbocharged petrol engines are the future, ye ha!!!!!

Was surprised when Auto Express used the term Elegance, as I had a feeling the Fabia would follow the Spaceback and loose the old fashioned Elegance tag, although SE L is a bit Merc'ish; should have stuck with SE Tech and Sport.

Thoroughly agree with you. The price of the diesels seem extortionate. I struggle to get over 60mpg out of my Fabia so if I could get near that with a TSi I'd be happy. I'd have to test drive both and look at the figures. I am only doing just over 10 k a year now anyway and I could reduce that if I wanted too.

The dealer we got the Spaceback from, suggested diesel prices would be getting even higher than petrol due to the requirements of meeting Euro 6. They felt that with the Fabia III (and later Rapid), diesel sales would noticeable decline in favour of petrol because you would need to do a huge mileage to break even.

Just hope the new Fabia III TSI 110 has a six speed box this time as with the Rapid; suites the higher output motor more than the 5 speed on the current model.
