Change the interior door list

Featured Replies

Hello!

I just bought my first Skoda Octavia -06 and it has a pretty big scrape on the inside of the door. On the list.

This is not my pic but I need to show you what I mean.

So my question is. How do I fix it? Its not broken at all. It's just like the paint is scratched off, on a area big like a coin. I have no idea what the pre-owner may have done 'cause the car is really nice exept of this.

Is the list screwed from the backside or can I like bend it off? And the big question; can I buy a new list somewhere? The easiest way would be to just leave the list to a painter. But what paint is it? Haha! I don't know what to do.

That trim is held on with plastic rivet thingies, so I don't think you can prise it off without breaking it.

Allright. Then I'm thinking of mask tape and spray it. Same on the other door to make it look the same. Just dark matte grey or something. Hope it will not look strange with the other lists in the car :/

Vinyl wrap that Bit and all the other matching bits of trim. Will cost about £10 and is only a couple of hours work.

Pretty much the same problem on my side, the whole door card's one unit, can't change the inserts only.

I have one good advise, not to commit the same mistake I did: Under any circumstances, don't touch the door inserts with sun protective cream on your skin! It somehow filters below the upper, aluminium like layer, dissolves it, then it'll start to peel off, leaving an emberassing and disgusting mark on the insert.

Same advise stays for all of the rubber like surfaces in the car (door slam handles etc...)

Try asking a breaker for the whole door card. They arent that hard to change.... shouldn't be too expensive either
