Octavia 1.9TDi Mk2 estate Elegance / L&K

Featured Replies

Greetings All,

Some of you may have seen my "Wanted" ad for one of the above?? If not AND you've got one for sale, please see my listing in the wanted section and see if it matches my desires please. If so, please get in touch…….

In the mean time……….

Having researched this forum, I'm looking for the 1.9TDI, because I don't want any of the DPF issues. The wife is going to use it most days I'm guessing, having used and abused my Fabia VRS for the last few years. She now does a 9 mile each way commute, often in traffic, so I don't think anything with a DPF would be suitable.

I am also after a manual gearbox, because I've seen that there have been a few issues with the DSG auto boxes. However, There aren't that many manuals available in my price range and I don't have the luxury of time on my side.

So my questions are these, am I right to try and avoid the DSG auto box?

Do the DSG issues affect the 1.9TDi AND the 2.0TD engined cars? or is it more specific to the 2.0TD engines cars?

Any help / advice appreciated.

Regards

Skid

For the age and spec of car you're looking for (2004-2009 in your ad) the 2.0 TDi wouldn't have had a DPF either.

The only 2.0 TDis to have a DPF prior to 2010 were the Scout and VRS versions.

Nick, that's brilliant, thanks very much for your input. I'll widen my search a little then.
