The result – for us – was a 0-60 time of 4.3sec, with 0-100mph taking 10.6sec, numbers that are near-identical to ones recorded for the V8-powered E92 BMW M3. This accelerative force can be replicated over and over again, and is available despite a chunky kerb weight of 1480kg, some 85kg more than an Audi S3. And if you’re prepared to pay £1940 for the AMG Driver’s Package, the A45 will hurtle all the way to 168mph before the electronic limiter cuts in.

Similar money I quite like the Porsche Macan S. Not as quick off the blocks or as powerful but a great all round package.(  current sales  sold out for the next 12 months.) Some good videos on this as well.

 

I also not that the A45 AMG is nearly £10.k more than anS3 Sportback in a similar spec.

 

I also like on the other side of the A45 AMG price a BMW Alpina D3 at £47K or even more fun Porsche Cayman S £48K

 

What a choice for under £50k

A work mate has one on order, gets it next month. They just look like a vauxhall Astra. I Wouldn't want one (if I could actually afford one without getting into debt up to my eyeballs)

I really like them and the spec looks good - but as has been said above - slightly over priced i think.

We had a few demonstrators/dealer cars running around here locally - and they look/sounds great.

Problem with that car is that its not a hot hatch. Its more of a hyper hatch and can blast off a aston martin over 1/4 mile as shown on 5th gear. Thats not what a hot hatch is about.

Indeed, you can almost argue that it's worth the near £40k list price.

But spending that kind of money and just getting a little hatchback makes it seem expensive.

lovely looking car though I would probably opt for the Golf R300 or R400.

An 'A 45 AMG 4matic' or 'CLA 45 AMG 4matic' Specced to 40 or 43 grand is already pretty special.

On top of all that, it still has a quoted 40mpg which while I'm sure isn't that accurate it's still comparatively impressive when they're squeezing so much out of a two litre four cylinder engine.  I thought it looked on the road as well, it doesn't look great in pictures but in real life I liked the diffuser and the squared off exhaust pipes and it has a more aggressive stance than the pictures suggest.

They are nice cars and the optional sports exhaust sounds great!

Not sure I could live with that auto box tho if it really is as dim-witted as people claim. The iPad stuck on he dash is also abit weird lol!

I liked the Geabox very much.  & i have Driven both the A45 & CLA 45 AMG 4matic.

 

Just a little too mental, but more fun on a wet road IMO than a E63.

 

If i did have the money to buy a CLA 45 AMG with the Optional Exhaust which is not too Expensive,

I think i would go for a Audi S3 Saloon, not to save money, but to be a bit more 'invisible' when wanting to nip on.

 

& the Mercedes is just a little too manic IMO.

Sat in traffic today driving along and noticed this resembelance 

 

 

It'll be interesting to see what the new RS3 is like when it arrives.

Audi are going to have to aim at the A45 AMG.

A45 amg. With the full aero kit amg wheels all the gadgets on the option list works out at £72 k

The carbon kit price is almost unbelievable, as is the Derestricting of the Speed Limiter.

There are nice Options like Wheels & Exhaust that are worth ticking IMO.

 

I think very few could justify adding a extra £30,000 + from the Options List.

But its surprising how many do.

 

Nice cars as they come,

but it is funny how a Mercedes Showroom Employee/ Salesperson looks at you like 

you are a vagrant with dog poo on your shoes if you want Mercedes to build a CLA 45 AMG 4Matic in

Solid Red with Grey Wheels and just the Exhaust Option.  What you actually like,

Poverty Spec to them @£43,000

 

It is quite funny when it is a Salesperson that possibly gets paid less per annum than the person wanting to buy earns in 2 months. (not me by the way, i am a vagrant)

& the person looking down their nose only drives a Mercedes as a perk of the job.

I stand corrected just gone back through the configuration and it looks like merc have dropped a lot of options to zero price so now works out at around £57
