sat nav playing silly buggers

Featured Replies

Hi all had my 2011 vrs about 2myths now and love it however tonight I put on on Sat nav and it wont recognise where I am instead saying I'm somewhere in Germany, ive only used once and it was fine, but now I cant use as it bases everything on the wrong current position, I haven't changed battery etc and everything has been fine, anyone any ideas, thanks

If it is a Columbus unit, then its quite a common fault apparently (if it is centred on a place called Regensburg?).  It is often rectified by resetting the unit (pressing setup-mic-eject simultaneously) and driving a little way to get a fresh fix on the satellites.

Yes mate it is a Columbus

Give reset a go then. Fingers crossed it sorts it.

Does sound like Regensburg Syndrome.

Follow Adam's advice as a starting point.

Hi all it is centered around regensburg

but I reset as per what Adam said but no joy, so now what are my options will this still be covered on late 2010 not 11 as thought??? Or are there any other things I can try, thanks

If you Google 'Regensburg Syndrome' it pretty much points to a memory / firmware incompatibility issue which can be resolved by loading a modified firmware for older units.
