Come to defrost the car this morning pressed my de-mister for the back window (as it does my mirrors too - vagcom option) but noticed that my drivers side one doesn't work neither does it when I switch the knob for the mirrors just incase it was that. Any ideas? It moves etc

No doubt its just a dodgy connection. Probably inside the mirror itself, but itd be nice if it was under warranty so the dealer could sort it..

You are going to have to check it is getting power.

Maybe the element is burnt out, i hope not.

 

So the Rear Screen worked and the Passenger side mirror worked,

just not the Driver side?

 

& they all were working together OK when the VAGCOM change was done?

It's 2010 VRS. How do I check to see if it's getting power? And yeah the rear screen & passenger worked all okay and no it didn't work before the VagCom change just thought i should get it sorted now.

Id imagine youd have to pop the mirror apart and get a multimeter on it.

If its not there, getting a wiring diagram to see how its wired, then checking wires for continuity till you find a duff one.

But I'm not sure how you get the casing off, or where exactly the wires run.

It might just be a wire thats popped off the switch or something.
