Front tow strap

Featured Replies

I have a tow strap to fit on the front but where to attatch it ? I was going to fit it through the drivers side grill but where to bolt it to ?

Don't you have a towing eye to screw into a threaded hole on the offside under the front 'bumper'?  Or is there just a fixed steel half-loop?

Fixed steel loop

Why not attach it to the towing eye then?

Get a carabiner and attach it with that.

That's pretty much what I've said too, that's what is normally done from what I've seen :)

Cross post as I was typing then.

Seems a sensible solution. I thought that's how it worked, only way I've ever seen it. Frankly... with a towing eye there, I don't see the point in the extra strap. But each to their own.

Unfortunately our cars have the loop tow eye unlike the Fabia and seat's. So if you fit a carabineer or similar it makes the strap very long. To me this then makes it look pants on the car so I gave up. Also based on where the strap would end up you wound not be able to get towed as it would damage the bumper so in all a pointless mod imo.

I was looking at the bolt on the right but the intercooler pipe is there or even cutting the loop off the car and then welding a nut in the place the loop was and then bolt it to the nut

The bolt to the right is a crash bar connection to chassis so would be strong enough to hold the strap and be towed.

Ah well that's fine then just needs a little trim down to attatch the strap then
