Screw in tyre... repairable?

Featured Replies

It will almost certainly be repairable - but you will need to find a tyre company that carry out "major repairs" - most of the national brands don't do it because they'd rather make more money by selling you a new tyre.

There is a very well respected tyre near me that will do major repairs - they charge £40 to carry them out - Top Stop in Weyhill near Andover.

If you go to a tyre garage that vulcanises their repairs, then its easily repairable...around £20

My last repair was done without a mushroom plug. The hole was reamed out then a length of 'string' was glued and pushed through and pulled back out then trimmed off close.
