buying what are they like?

Featured Replies

Hi all, new here and looking for some advise on the 08 octavia 1.9tdi ambiente. Read all good reviews and took 1 for a test drive today, beautiful car to drive but power was a little disappointing if i'm honest, the sales man said it has bags of power maybe i was just being cautious  . So just wondering is that the way the torque is set up on them? Or is there a problem somewhere? Car will come with a 6 month warranty, 114000kms, service history.

Also dont think its anything to worry about but when went to start the car it turned over fine, started fine and just died straight after kicking, it barreled then and wouldnt start. Fetched the sales man and he started it by dabbing the accelerator. After that she went like a dream. There was little diesel in it and was sitting at a slope (engine sloped down). Was first thing in morning, i waited for heater symbol to go out before starting.

Any info and feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.

Maybe because it was a trader the car hasn't been started in a while also when I start my car I leave ignition on till all lights are off then flick for start

Lovely cars and I'm guessing it's a 105bhp model not the fastest but good fun mid range if your looking for a bit more power a stage 1 remap will boost the car to 140 and 310 nm

Cheers for reply DanialA11, I'm guessing its the 105bhp model as the sales man couldn't tell me  got the number of previous owner so gonna give him a ring find out for sure. When you say its not the fastest i'm guessing it being a bit  dull on power is just the way there set up??

Well my Octy 105bhp the turbo kicks in at about 1750rpm and after about 2800rpm that's the end, but it not slow by any means

The 105hp engined models are indeed somewhat sluggish.

A good remap works wonders.
