Fitting new engine mount (gearbox)

Featured Replies

Just bought a vibratechnics gearbox mount off a guy on Facebook picking it up tonight.

Is there a guide on how to remove the old and fit the new or is it just a case of undoing the old one, holding the engine in place and putting the new on?

This one to be exact..

jack the gearbox up unbolt old 1 bolt in new 1 plzzz let me know if theres much cabin vibration been looking at these for a while.

Easy enough job mate, as said ^^ jack under the box, shouldn't move after that too much, if anything at all. Old one off, new one on and happy days! :)

Right got this fitted tonight my verdict-

Not nearly half as bad as everyone makes them out to be, yes you can feel a bit of vibration, especially through the gear stick but it's nowhere near as unbearable as everyone makes out, gear changes feel smoother and it seems to go a bit better as soon as I touch the accelerator instead of that little hesitation before.

Overall, really impressed.

good enough for me im having a set! cheers tom...

Snap same here I think, next mods for over winter. My keys already vibrate in the ingnition with the purple Powerflex dogbone mount bush I'm running. I already put up with the SMF chatter which ain't too bad, you get used to it. So it isn't going to hurt.

Then next year to do some track days and RWYB quarters and shows :)

Think that's why I haven't noticed it as much with the powerflex lower dogbone mount in as well. Like I say, it's not as bad as people make out, my cars barely comfortable anymore with half the interior missing and every strut brace known to man fitted anyways so it doesn't bother me one bit.
