Going to view 2007 Octavia 2.0 PD 140 Estate - any tips?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

This is my first post on this forum as I'm looking to sell my Focus 2006 1.6 TDci (130k miles) and possibly looking (viewing tomorrow) at buying a 2007 Octavia 2.0 PD 140 Elegence Estate with 62k miles and wondered if you guys had anything to particularly look out for?  The 'timing belt' has just been done, but is this not cambelt? Will that need doing soon?

I'm assuming there's a DPF fitted? My Focus luckily just missed out on having the DPF fitted... Is it likely to cause me much trouble?  I currently do around 17k miles a year, mixed motorway and round town.

Looking forward to being part of this rather enthusiastic community!

All the best,

Timing Belt = Cam Belt

My late 06 PD est doesn't have a DPF. I think only models like the Scout had them fitted until somewhat later.

I'm sure someone will be along soon to give a definitive answer.

Thanks nickguzzi,

Apologies for my noob question! How would I find if it has the DPF fitted?

Cheers,

In 2007 only the 4x4, Scout and VRS had dpf's fitted.

Fantastic news Anddenton, thanks!

Check the seam on the boot just above the number plate, all the way along for bubbling/rust.

Check the sills/jacking points for damage stone chips/rust.

Test drive with full left/right lock in an open space.

When they did the belt - did they do the water pump at the same time, get the receipt and check for the warranty on it.
