I am interested in fitting silenting hood panel on my 1.8tsi Octavia 3. As I know, all petrols are comming without it and all diesels with it...do you know the reason why? Is it related to heat of the engine? If I will put it...do I risk to overheat the engine? Did anyone tried to do this?

I think the petrols get quite hot, with the recent weather I've noticed my bonnet steams after a few minutes of driving in the mornings.

I thought that's why petrol cars don't have them fitted as then run better cooler. Compared to diesels that are best when hot

me too - looks quite potent when it does that - even with start/stop.
