Hello again....upgraded from Felicia to Octavia

Featured Replies

Picked up my new (to me) Octavia TDI Elegance from WJH Motors in Bedford on Friday. A serious upgrade from my (t)rusty Felicia 1.3 estate. It's my first car with:

  • Power Steering
  • Climate control (or even air con)
  • CD Player/Changer
  • Electric Windows
  • Electric Sunroof
  • Remote Central Locking
  • Heated Power Mirrors
  • Headlamp washers
  • Alloy Wheels

etc...etc...etc...

Loving it so far. I picked it up on Friday afternoon, and by late evening had discovered a couple of small problems: one keyfob had flat batteries, the isolate switch for the rear electric windows didn't work and one rear speakers sounds terrible (sure it didn't do that on the test drive???).

Good marks to WJH Motors in Bedford. I took it round at 9:00am Saturday, and by 9:45am they had fitted a new isolate switch, changed the batteries and ordered a speaker ordered for me.

On an ICE note, is the "Symphony" head unit standard for a 2001Y Octy Elegance TDI? I have vague recollections of the head unit looking different when I took a test drive...more silver in colour than black. More than likely my dodgy memory though.....

My 2002 Elegance has a black Symphony head unit as standard, if that helps. And I use the same dealer - although normally their Riseley garage.

PS: Welcome to Briskoda. :D

Glad you like it.

Most owners on here junk the standard ICE anyway as it's not upto much.

The Elegance should have the Symphony HU with multichanger in the boot.

Cheers
