Oil Dipstick - quick question

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

For a mk1 Fabia with 1.4 mpi 8v engine (ATZ), how much oil is in it according to the stick? From what I've been told, 1cm is about 100ml of oil. Mine is at the top of the mark, not above it, right there. I know that it should be somewhere half way. I've just had the periodic oil change and I think the mechanics put a bit more oil than usual. Should I take out some of it, to get it at the middle of the mark, as I've been used with ?

There is a low mark and a high mark.

It doesn't need to be in the middle.

Between the two is fine.

On the high mark is fine.

Also it's called a dipstick in the UK, not an oil dipper rod.

No idea where you are from though as your profile doesn't say, Mars for all I know. :D

Thank you for the answer and for the advise also. It's true, english is not my native language, sometimes I have to check the dictionary.  :nerd:

P.S.: I'd be greatful if an admin could edit the thread title 'oil dipper rod' to simply 'dipstick'.
