hid coding

Featured Replies

I know that you need a Non error free ballast and code it with the bi xenon.+ shuttle or something

Just wondering

1st of all if I use 55w ballast do I need to code ?

2nd if I use a 35w ballast and code it then if in future I take kit off for some reason or other and put standard bulbs in do I need to get the coding taking off again?

55W may be OK. it may not, it depends on your car. Some it will work on without coding, some it won't.

If you use a 35W and code it, putting standard bulbs back in without changing the coding again will bring the bulb failure light on.

The coding you need is for xenons without shutters (NOT WITH) and you need to switch off the cold lamp diagnostics for the dipped beam headlights

Just to be different I had the standard bulbs in for a week after coding for HIDS with no bulb errors.

When one of the HIDs failed on the hatch (after 5 years of constant use) I put a halogen in as a temporary measure, and the bulb light was definitely on.
