facelift front on older superb mk2?

Featured Replies

Hi

I wonder if the facelift front with headlights fit on older mk2 superbs? If it does what do I need to change?

I would guess bonnet, bumper, front wings - lets just say the entire FACE of the car.

It has been done before - but as stated above, you'd need all the panels.

This was a common question on the MkII Octavia forum, lot's of people wanting the newer facelift front end on their pre-FL.

It could be done and a few did do it but it wasn't as simple as you might think, things like different wiring / connectors for features not on the pre-FL such as LED instead of incandescent DRL's etc.

By the time you've bought two wings, a bonnet, grill, headlights, bumper, foglights and all of the fixings you'd be as well trading it up for a newer model.

The only exception to this is if you are repairing a crash damaged Superb and are having to buy all of the parts anyway. Even then used pre-FL front end's are going to be far easier to source.

2 superbs i know was rebuilded to fl in poland. The wiring and coding is not big deal.
