The final hurdle (hopefully) for the pick up

Featured Replies

Most of you who have been following the progress of the mighty yellow one ill know the last piece of the puzzle I needed were some custom spacers for the rear airbags. Well I got a call today to say they were ready so picked them up tonight..yay.

For the un initiated on air bags heres a little guide..

From the left..

Air bags

Air bags from underneath (the inner part with the bolt in is what comes out under air pressure)

Spacers

Spacers and airbags assembled

The airbag and the spacer takes the place of the spring and the height of the spacer determines the base height of the vehicle when there is no air in the bag (i.e when pimping at a standstill).

Just got to fit these up, connect the air lines that are in place and it should be ready to come home :)

Good luck on the final straight mate!

What you just said when striaght over my head! But good luck with it all mate!

The end is in sight mate...

Keep up the good work!

They look a bit different blown up...

This means she now goes up and down at the back aswell as the front :)

The pics show the bags jacked right up with the car in the air, in working practise they wont be anywhere near as tall as that and due to the rear axle being level and not hanging down the lower section is straight not at an angle as shown.

You know I saw this and thought, "look a little odd for airbags" - There's me thinking of steering wheel type airbags. :o

Looks sweet in position though. Can't wait for first all the way up, and all the way down pics.

Had it all the way down this evening, its sooo cool. You can almost drop the tailgate down onto the floor and walk straight into the pick up bed :)

OK! :grumpy: Time for this smilie I guess.

Ahhh pics are coming, needs a good polish again as the paint has now settled down a bit and some choice outside pics to show off :)

You've had too much practise at this photographing lark - just look at my "bumper on wonky, covered in filler" photo's for how it SHOULD be done ;) :P :D

Top stuff mate. Can't wait to see it finished! :)
